Besides the front of the house, a fence dominates the curb appeal of a house. This expense feature must be stained to protect the wood and to continue to give that house amazing curb appeal. Fences, like decks, come in all shapes and sizes including privacy fences, shadowbox fences, picket fences, and a multitude of variations including lattice tops and pergolas built in. For the most part, fence panels are made from thin, non-dense wood that tends to have a short life if unprotected with stains and sealers. One fence contractor I know will not warranty a fence for longer than 7 years if the owner does not stain the fence within a year of him building it! Staining a fence will not only provide a beautiful backdrop to your yard but will allow the fence to last anywhere between 3 to 6 times longer than unprotected!
Cobra Deck and Concrete uses our proprietary 3 step process on every fence. First, we will spray our proprietary non bleach foam and brightener on the fence. This will allow the mold, mildew, and organics to slightly detach from the fence so that the fence can be cleaned without damage from the power washing. Because most fences have lots of grass, plants, gardens, and other sensitive foliage along the fence, it is imperative that a cleaning solution is used that will not kill plants. The Cobra Deck and Concrete cleaner is non toxic, non bleach, and non acidic so it will never cause problems with sensitive plants. Some customers have moss growing on rocks around their house and they specifically use us because our cleaner is so gentle on sensitive plants and still does the job of removing any surface mold, mildew, and organics. After the fence has been cleaned, we apply a protective coating and UV protecting stain to the surface of both sides. This coating can either be a semitransparent or solid stain. The coating will not allow the mold and mildews to grow back as fast and will shed water from the fence due to the built in water sealer. Because we use predominantly only water based stains, your fence will not get as moldy or have black spots and splotches.
